Bill Thomas is a preacher's son from Texas. His roots are in the great blues
tradition of the south, and
like Jimi Hendrix, is of native American blood. On his arrival in Europe
"Soulbag" magazine
described Bill as "a fiery & most exciting guitarist". His last album
"Preacher's Son", recorded with
Double Trouble, Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section, is a blast of fresh
air.
Bill's British band consists of the great Sam Kelly on drums and Marion
Dolton on bass. Sam was
voted best British R & B blues drummer of 1998, 1999 and 2000 by readers of
"Blueprint magazine"
Those who saw him at The Bullfrog Blues Club on his recent tour with Geoff
Achison will
understand why! Marion & Sam have built up the reputation of being one of
the most exciting and
tight rhythm sections in the country, as was evidenced by the appearance of
The Bill Thomas Band
live on the Paul Jones show last October.
