Ty Garner

Ty Garner began his career as a busker working the streets of Paris, Amsterdam and London playing folk, blues and ragtime styles of music before settling back in his native town of Mansfield where he established himself as one of the 'young guns of British rhythm and blues'.

Ty's guitar based blues roots derive from the early 20th Century solo acoustic recordings of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Jessie Fuller and Sleepy John Estes, together with the electrified Chicago combos led by Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed and Otis Rush. Influenced by a fusion of blues styles, Ty draws upon the quicksilver-fingered American guitarist Mike Bloomfield and the British blues boom super group, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.

Ty has spent many years performing on the European blues trail winning the hearts of blues aficionados in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, Slovakia, Scotland and England. His debut at the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival earned him instant recognition as one of the United Kingdom's most exciting and original blues artists to emerge since the 1960s.
