HERSHEY & THE TWELVE BARS - here at last!

The band features Richard 'Hershey' Shirman: vocals, harmonica, Mike Summerland (ex Mick Abraham's Blodwyn Pig), Alan Coulter (ex Meal Ticket) on drums, lead guitar Ernie Hayes on rhythm guitar, Gary Baldwin on hammond organ, and Chas Cronk on bass. Hershey and The 12 Bars style is a prime example of excellent crossover blues, Sure, there's lots of solid blues fare here, but my mind also wanders off in the direction of two favourite bands of long standing: Roger Chapman's amazing Shortlist and the brilliant Steely Dan crew. Add to this a vocalist with lots of personality and a distinct talent for songwriting: how can they go wrong? |
