Greg Douglas - Emsworth Music Club

As the Dockyard Club wasn't available on the date, The Bullfrog Blues Club
are at The Emsworth Music Club at Emsworth Sports & Social Club, 43, Havant
Road, Emsworth PO10 7JF on MONDAY 9th OCTOBER for a very special event,
when The Steve Miller Band's outstanding guitarist & Rock & Roll Hall of
Fame inductee Greg Douglass' top band THE GREG DOUGLASS BAND PLAY STEVE
MILLER.
THE GREG DOUGLASS BAND will be playing a night of Steve Miller classics as
part of an extensive tour that will take in top venues all over the U.K.,
including The Half Moon in Putney, and Backstage at The Green at Kinross,
Scotland, where Albert Lee appears in the afternoon prior to Greg's evening
headline gig.

The first gig of the tour - on The Isle Of Wight - has already completely
SOLD OUT....
The Steve Miller Band's 'Greatest Hits 1974-78' has sold over 15 MILLION
copies, and includes 'Jungle Love' co-written by Greg. In 2016 Greg & the
rest of the Steve Miller Band were inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall Of
Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in 1966 in San Francisco, the band have had
a string of hit singles that are staples of classic rock, including EURoeThe
JokerEUR, EURoeFly Like An EagleEUR, EURoeAbracadabraEUR EURoeRock EUR?nEUR? MeEUR,
as well as "Jungle Love". The The Steve Miller Band have released eighteen
studio albums, seven live albums, seven compilation albums, and at least 29
singles.
GREG DOUGLASS started playing in 1968, influenced by The Ventures, Dick
Dale, Jeff Beck, The Beatles, and Leo Kottke, and Greg's "acid-rock" band,
COUNTRY WEATHER, shared the stage at the Fillmore & Avalon Ballrooms in San
Francisco with SLY & THE FAMILY STONE, JEFF BECK, TEN YEARS AFTER ,
SANTANA, and many others.
As Greg's reputation as a guitarist grew, he was asked to join VAN
MORRISON's band, SOUNDHOLE. When Van took a hiatus, Greg toured with HOT
TUNA, the spin-off band from the Jefferson Airplane. When Greg & Hot Tuna
parted company, he became a founding member of TERRY & THE PIRATES which
included including Quicksilver Messenger Service's guitar legend JOHN
CIPPOLINA.
As Greg's reputation grew, STEVE MILLER invited him to join THE STEVE
MILLER BAND. Greg had co-written the song "Jungle Love" with MIller's
bassist Lonnie Turner while in Terry and the Pirates. The song was a smash
hit and Greg stayed with Steve for four years, touring, recording, earning
5 platinum albums designating sales of 15 million units and a BMI award for
over one million radio & television performances of "Jungle Love".

When Steve took a break, Greg went to Europe to play "electric bluegrass"
with PETER ROWAN, and when that tour was over, TOM JOHNSTON, lead singer
for the DOOBIE BROTHERS invited Greg to became guitarist in his band which
also included the legendary Memphis Horns.

Greg worked with Tom for several years before joining THE GREG KIHN BAND,
and touring and recording with them for four years. The first song he
recorded with them was "Jeopardy", which became a number one single -the
video to the song was one of the first MTV videos, and they appeared on
"American Bandstand" and "Saturday Night Live".
TOM FOGERTY - founding member of CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL - invited Greg
to join his TOM FOGERTY'S ALL STAR BAND, and Greg also appeared on Tom's
"Deal it Out" album.

The harmonica virtuoso PAUL BUTTERFIELD invited Greg to play on all his
Northern California appearances, which he did right up to Paul's untimely
demise.

Greg then joined THE FORMER MEMBERS, a group consisting of BRUCE BARTHOL &
DAVID BENNETT COHEN of COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH and ROY BLUMENFELD from AL
KOOPER'S BLUES PROJECT. The band spent several weeks in the U.K for many
years, once as SAN FRANCISCO NIGHTS when they were joined by SAM ANDREW
founding guitarist of BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY, the late Janis
Joplin's band, and BEX MARSHALL (as "the voice of Janis"). After the tour
Greg joined BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY but sadly SAM ANDREW died
shortly after a gig in Italy, and out of respect SAN FRANCISCO NIGHTS
broke up.

Next NICK GRAVENITES of THE ELECTRIC FLAG asked Greg to step into the shoes
of the founder and original guitarist, MIKE BLOOMFIELD. They still tour
intermittently, from California to Quebec.

Greg also plays with THE MONSTERS OF CLASSIC ROCK, a "moveable feast" of
musicians, who have included CHRIS SLADE (AC/DCand THE FIRM), SIMON WRIGHT,
(AC/DC), MARIO CIPOLLINA (HUEY LEWIS), RICK DERRINGER (THE McCOYS and EDGAR
WINTER), CARMINE APPICE ( VANILLA FUDGE and ROD STEWART), and CARMINE ROJAS
( DAVID BOWIE & ROD STEWART)
Greg also guests with DEVA PREMAL and her partner, Miten -the number one
selling mantra music/meditation group in the world- when they play on the
west coast of the U.S.A. DEVA PREMAL havesold over one million CDs in this
very specialised market.
After seven years of burning through the American club scene with the U.S
lineup of THE GREG DOUGLASS BAND,Greg formed GREG DOUGLASS AND THE
SIDEWINDERS, with more emphasis on blues, surf, and rockabilly than the
previous band.

However, Greg's band of choice on his U.K tours are, as always, three top
class U.K musicians who all played with another top San Francisco band,
It's A Beautiful Day, including the Isle Of Wight Festival and Scotland's
Tartan Heart Festival, and include local hero Steve Browning of Teed Up,
who is also an ex member of The Pretty Things and Ronnie Spector's band.

Don't miss this! It'll be a spectacular night!!!
