THE BULLFROG IS BACK!!!!! After a few months of cancellations and postponements due to the Covid 19 pandemic, we're back on October 1st with out first Bullfrog in six months with the fantastic CLAUDE BOURBON. The enigmatic "frog with the blues" has always been a Bullfrog favourite , ever since he played his very first Bullfrog Blues Club gig for us 20 years ago. His influences are very eclectic - as well as Robert Johnson, J.J. Cale, Blind Blake, Jimmy Page and Richie Blackmore they also include Paco De Lucia, Joaquin Rodrigo and JS Bach. If youâEUR?ve never seen Claude, get ready for a unique and talented take on a wide range of musical traditions as he takes blues, Spanish, and Middle Eastern stylings into uncharted territories with his exquisite finger picking. Although his forte is his guitar work, when he bursts into song be prepared for something between Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens -but with a French accent! Thousands of people in the UK, Europe and USA have enjoyed listening to Claude at countless venues and festivals, including Glastonbury Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, Colne Great British & Blues Festival, Rock O'Z Arene, (in Avenches, Switzerland), and many more - not forgetting Southsea Folk Roots and Blues Festival! Claude's shared the stage in Europe and the USA with countless top musicians,, including Calvin Russel, Charlie Morgan (Elton John, Gary Moore), Jan Akkerman (Focus), Steve Grossman (Miles Davis), Herbie Armstrong (Van Morrison), and many more. CLAUDE BOURBON will be appearing on October 1st at The Bullfrog Blues Club at The Dockyard Club, The Dockyard Club), Onslow Rd, Southsea, PO5 2NH. ( doors open at 8pm performance at 9pm ) Tickets are £8 advance/£10 on the door.
