The Bullfrog Blues Club, Southsea wish you all a very happy Christmas and a great 2020. And what a great gig we have for you to start the year with a bang!!! On Thursday January 2nd we proudly present the welcome return of the fabulous BAD INFLUENCE . ItâEUR?s the bandâEUR?s first gig for us since we moved from South Parade Pier to the Dockyard Club, and weâEUR?re delighted to welcome them back The Bullfrog! Val Cowell (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), and Richard Hayes (lead & slide guitar) originally formed the band in south London in 1986. Whilst Val and Richard have been the consistent driving force, the rhythm section has seen some changes over the years, and now feature Harry James, on drums (previously with Thunder and Magnum) and bass player Pete Stroud (from Peter GreenâEUR?s Splinter Group and The Buddy Whittington Band). BAD INFLUENCE have toured constantly right from their early days, and have played in a wide variety of venues, including many gigs at London's legendary Marquee Club . The band have released six CDs to date and no less than four songs from their latest CD 'Carousel' were recorded for Paul Jones' Radio 2 show. Val Cowell has been described as having "a tidal wave of a voice that can take on the mantle of our greatest singers", while the band's overall performances receive reports such as.. "Bad Influence always leave their audiences handsomely entertained". BAD INFLUENCE are definitely one of the top acts in their field, delivering their sound of powerful vocals alongside classic guitar driven rock solid blues.
