This Thursday (August 4th) we have a real treat for you at the Bullfrog Blues Club, at The Dockyard Club), Onslow Rd, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 2NH, when top Anglo/Belgian blues band Steelyard are playing. Based in Belgium, Steelyard have played most of the top blues clubs in mainland Europe. Originally founder members Steve Fuller and Sara Cotton performed as a very successful duo, and shared stages with many top blues performers including The Yardbirds,Connie Lush, Lightning Willie, Nimmo Brothers, Angela Brown, Kosmic Blue, Sherman Robertson, Johnny Sansome, Mike Sanchez many more The success of the duo led to a decision to add musicians and form a four piece band, and now Russ Hawley is on drums and Max Harrison's on bass guitar. The band has proved to be as every bit as successful as the duo. Sara Cotton fronts the band on vocals and guitar, and is equally as adept on saxophone and keyboards. The band have supported Spencer Davis, Little Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker Junior and they recently played the main stage with Robert Cray and Shirley King (B.B. King's daughter) at the Luxembourg Blues Express 2015. They've also played equal billing with Germany's top Blues band The East Coast Experience and leading Dutch blues band.Living Blues. The band's influences include Janis Joplin, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Allman Brothers, Rory Gallagher, and many many more! . Steelyard have played The Cotton Club (Hamburg).Reveillon Jazz Cafe (France) Blues Cafe Apeldoorn (Netherlands) Willem Tell Blues Club (Belgium), Rattlesnake Blues Club (Munich) and many more top European blues venues & concert halls in England, Scotland, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark, so we're very excited that they're coming to The Bullfrog!
