Lesley Carr, (ex-Hot Tamales ?queen of the washboard?, & wife of Stewart Carr of Reet Petite & Gone), is promoting a special acoustic Americana music event on Friday October 26th at Wickham Centre, when she presents an evening withthe fabulous Myshkins Ruby Warblers. Many of you will remember the ever popular Myshkin when she appeared with Mike West, including gigs for Barking Spider at South Parade Pier, The R.M.A Tavern and The Railway Folk Club. But check out http://www.myshkinsrubywarblers.com to see what she?s up to now! Theatre school dropout Myshkin was born and raised in Indiana, picked up her sister's guitar and began to write songs. She released a solo album, made her homes in tipis, trucks and buses, drove a cab, baked cakes, painted houses, & roamed through the U.S.A. until she ended up in New Orleans in 1993, where she met songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike West. Her nine years collaborating with Mike West resulted in four albums - and 300 gigs a year?. In 2002 Myshkin cut loose, relocated in Portland Oregon, and formed Myshkin's Ruby Warblers. Eleven albums later she?s still on the raod, and at the gig at Wickham she?ll be accompanied by the one and only Mat Martin, who was previously with Kirsty McGee. Myshkins Ruby Warblers appear on Friday October 26 at Wickham Centre, Mill Lane, Wickham, PO17 5AL, Doors open 7pm and the music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are just £7; or £5 in advance; £4 concessions.
