I hope you all had a very happy Christmas and wishing you a very happy 2013 to you all! Get your dancing shoes ready for a jive and swing extravaganza from THE JIVE ACES at The Bullfrog Blues Club on Thursday 3rd January - the perfect way to blow those post Xmas blues away! Formed in 1989, THE JIVE ACES are a six-piece high energy jive & swing band and have appeared at many music festivals and prestige venues, performing both classics and original material. They've appeared at The Bullfrog twice before (when we were on south Parade Pier) but this is the first time they've appeared at Bullfrog Blues Club's present venue, The NBESCA Club We don't often have a band that were were not only winners of BBC's 'Opportunity Knocks', semi finalists in 2012's 'Britain's Got Talent' , and who have featured in "Hello!" and OK!" magazines!!!. In 2010, THE JIVE ACES headlined at the first ever swing dance at the Royal Albert Hall, playing to approximately 1,400 dancers on the 5,000-square-foot dance floor.... Dring that year the band performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in a tribute to Louis Prima, with special guests Keely Smith (Louis Prima's widow) and Toni Elizabeth Prima (his daughter). The event garnered a five star review from Edinburgh Spotlight THE JIVE ACES performed at the Cork Jazz Festival in October 2010 and were featured in five newspapers, including the front page of the national paper The Irish Examiner and The Irish Times In Feb 2011 THE JIVE ACES toured the US again. They were in the LA area recording and performing in Washington DC, Hollywood, Pasadena, and Cerritos in Palm Dessert, opening for Keely Smith. followed by a sold out show at the Metropolitan Room in New York City. THE JIVE ACES produced a music video for their cover of the well known Morecambe and Wise theme song 'Bring Me Sunshine" - performed in a Louis Prima, jive style. It had over 50,000 views on Youtube in the first week and now has over 2.1 million views. The video has won several awards at film festivals.. In July 2011, THE JIVE ACES first sold out London's famous jazz venue Ronnie Scotts for the first time, a feat they're repeated many times since!
