In the late 60s, Detroit Soul and British Rock had a baby in Tokyo. It was brought up by Blues in Surrey Delta. Now all is being revealed at The R.M.A. Tavern in Cromwell Rd., Southsea this Saturday, 12th March - and it's FREE!!!! The band brews a unique blend of Lizzie Hibbert`s Motown and Gospel-infused vocals, authentic R&B keyboards from the eminent David `Munch' Moore (whose credits include Dick Heckstall-Smith, Eric Bell, Keef Hartley, Pete Brown, Jon T-Bone Taylor, and Jeff Beck) topped with Saiichi Sugiyama's authoritative blues guitar that has been compared to `60s Clapton and Peter Green. The catchy melodies are driven by the groovy rhythm section of bassist Ben Reed (who also works with UK gospel giants Tracy Campbell and Noel Robinson), guitarist Rick Biddulph (ex member of legendary Canterbury prog rock band Caravan) and newcomer Mune Sugiyama on the drums. Many of the band's songs feature original lyrics by Pete Brown, the poet and lyricist for the supergroup Cream. SAIICHI SUGIYAMA: guitar, composer, arranger LIZZIE HIBBERT: lead vocals DAVE "MUNCH" MOORE: keyboards BEN REED: bass RICK BIDDULPH: rhythm guitar MUNE SUGIYAMA: drums The gig starts at the R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Rd., Southsea this Saturday, 12th March at 9.p.m - but the bar's open at 6 p.m - DON'T BE LATE!
