It's my 60th birthday this year, on July 4th (Independence Day...) I'm having TWO birthday bashes in the U.K. on consecutive days -3rd & 4th July- and anyone on the mailing list is welcome to come along to examine my free bus pass, and marvel at the fact I'm still alive and have all my own teeth. (Don't mention the slight premature hair loss .....) Originally the 3rd July party was supposed to be at South Parade Pier, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they're now both at The R.M.A. Tavern, 58, Cromwell Rd., Eastney, Portsmouth, The reason I've decided to have two consecutive nights is so that one caters for those who like the blues, and one caters for those who like roots music. Of course, if you like BOTH kinds of music, you're welcome to both... R.S.V.P if you want, but you're welcome to just turn up. SATURDAY 3rd JULY 8 p.m. Bullfrog Blues All Star House Band - and special guests. SUNDAY 4th JULY 8 p.m. Stompin' Dave Allen - and special guests. If you can't make either of those, from about 12 noon on Sunday 4th July I'll be at The Florence Arms, Florence Rd., Southsea, for Andy Broad's Blues Jam. Hope to see you over the weekend! J.R.
