‘Built for Comfort’ appear on Easter Saturday at The R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Road, Eastney, Portsmouth- and admission is FREE!! The band emerged from the ashes of Swindon based The Hot Tamales in July 2002. Founder members Alec Adams and Bill Jones had met in the summer of 2000 when Alec was seeking harmonica lessons. (NOTE: this is NOT the defunct Portsmouth band, Hot Tamales, which featured Stewart & Lesley Carr, Dave Jordan & Pete The Gnome ...different band, same name!) And so the story began.... by the summer of 2004 Built For Comfort had played over 65 gigs, averaging about one a week, and continues to do so. Built For Comfort have created a reputation as a lively and entertaining act playing around Swindon, Bristol, Bath and Oxford over the last 5 years and are always seeking new venues to ply their particular brand of blues and rhythm and blues. When it comes to hot Chicago rhythm and blues, Built for Comfort take no prisoners. A real love for the music is evident in the musicians’ original arrangements of the classics such as My Babe and The Thrill Is Gone mixed with some lesser known numbers that never fail to please. This group’s passion for rhythm and blues music transports their listeners to some steamy U.S. bar, where the smoke is blue, the atmosphere lively and fun and the music gut-wrenchingly excellent. Three albums are currently available, ‘Not Too Fast, Not Too Slow’ recorded in 2002, ‘Gone But Not Forgotten’ in 2005 and ‘Blues Ain’t Nothin’ recorded in 2007. ‘Built for Comfort’ appear on Easter Saturday at The R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Road, Eastney, Portsmouth- and admission is FREE!!
