LAST REMINDER....... the amazing KING KING, featuring Alan Nimmo (formerly of the Nimmo Brothers) are at The Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier, Southsea, on TOMORROW - Thursday 4th March. DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!!! Front man Alan Nimmo is widely known across the UK and Europe for his pivotal role with the award-winning Nimmo Brothers. KING KING played their debut at Ireland's top blues festival (Harvest Time Blues Festival , Monaghan) & created such a stir that the organiser stated “King King aren’t just playing the festival. Word is that King King ARE the festival”. KING KING's are currently gearing up for a hectic 2010 schedule of gigs and festival appearances, including Glastonbury Festival. The band's debut E.P. ‘Broken Heal’ was produced by the team behind the Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and theEditors received a gleaming review from 'Blues Matters' magazine. You can listen to tracks on the Myspace site, www.myspace.com/kingkingblues. The recording received airplay on radio stations in the UK, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, India, Canada and the USA, and when our good friend Julian Moores, organiser of 'Blues On The Farm' festival heard it he so impressed that he made room for KING KING at the Festival - despite having already filled the bill!. KING KING also played Maryport Blues Festival, (following Jethro Tull on the main stage before an audience of 22,000), the Shetland Blues Festival, whlst European appearances included a headline slotat the Hookrock Festival. Bass player Lindsay Coulson has played in The Aynsley Lister Band as well as The Nimmo Brothers, whilst Bennett Holland on keyboards has worked with aplethora of names including Groove Armada and Richard Hawley. On drums we have Craig Blundell, recently described by'Drummer' magazine as “one of the UK's most versatile and staggeringly talented players”. So... they may be at Glastonbury this year, but YOU can see 'em at The Bullfrog Blues Club for a trifling £8 - book now, or take your chances on the door.
