Dear Wandering Minstrels, From today, PLEASE check your £20 notes when collecting wages from publicans/bandleaders at the end of gigs! From now on any £20 note with a picture of ELGAR on the back is NOT legal tender, so don't be caught short...times is tight enough as it is, and I don't know about you, but I had 4 gigs cancelled due to the WC football...tho' I jumped for joy when England lost, because, sure enough, one of my cancelled gigs was reinstated as a result! Intresting, isn't it, that the cancellation of these £20 was headline news...NOT!! As The Buddha said,(and also Lisa Simpson as I recall) "The price of peace is constant vigilance."
