And now... THE DATE for the Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart gig at the R.M.A.!

As has been pointed out - I missed out the date for the below gig - It's MONDAY 17th MAY..... Please forgive me, I'm having a bad day!

After almost 9 years, Stacey Earle (Steve Earle's sister) and Mark Stuart are back in Southsea! Stacey and Mark are each veterans of Steve Earle's band The Dukes, and Mark toured in Freddy Fender’s band, amongst others.

Stacey Earle's first show was on an arena stage in Sydney, playing rhythm guitar ias a member of Steve Earle & the Dukes, on "The Hard Way" tour in 1990. Stacey appeared on Steve Earle and The Dukes recordings, "The Hard Way" (1990) ,"Shut Up And Die Like An Aviator" (1991) and "Transcendental Blues" (2000).

Stacey and Mark's last appearance in Southsea, (at South Parade Pier in 1991), was a superb show, and this time around you get the chance to see them in the intimate surroundings of The R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Road, Eastney - up close!

Gearle Records release, “Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart Town Square”, available at shows only, comes after receiving an overwhelmingly warm response to the acoustic version bonus CD of their 2003 duo release, “Never Gonna Let You Go”.

Stacey and Mark: “We are thinking, maybe, it is what the audience wants and we aim to please. Folks come to the show; they ask if we have something that sounded like us that night. Let’s call it a souvenir .It seems we have become songwriters, live performers, then recording artists in that order.”
The two have recorded 32 acoustic versions of songs performed over the last 16 years. Ihowever, each still remains an individual solo artist with solo releases such as the 2008 release of Mark Stuart's “Left of Nashville” and Stacey Earle's “The Ride” in 2009,

A show not to miss, Stacey and Mark reach back and grab songs of the past, then fast forward to present and into the future. They will be performing from their own new solo releases as well during the gig.

Tickets are just £7, available behind the bar of the R.M.A. Tavern during licensing hours, from "Saraband", Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea (near the petrol station) during shop hours, or via Paypal on line on our secure website www.barkingspider.abelgratis.com. Tickets will also be on sale on the door- subject to availabilty. The show starts at 8.30 p.m. on MONDAY 17th MAY.

See you there!!!!
