KENT DUCHAINE at The Bullfrog Blues Club, Thursday 1st October!

The incredible KENT DUCHAINE from Minnesota, U.S.A.  is appearing at The Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier, Southsea, on Thursday 1st October.  This is a real MUST SEE gig -    "The Times"  even named Kent  as 'one of the
best five concert acts in the U.K'!!!

At the age of  thirteen Kent  got his first electric guitar and formed a
band in his home in  Minnesota, He  soon discovered the music of Robert Johnson, taught himself  to play slide guitar,
developed his own ferocious wild style. He  immersed himself into the  music of
Johnson, Muddy Waters, Lightening Hopkins, T-Bone Walker and Bukka White
- and never looked back. B y 1970  he'd opened a show for
one his heroes - the aforementioned  Bukka White.

 From 1972 - 1975
Kent performed in a band with Kim Wilson (later of The Fabulous
Thunderbirds) backing many blues greats including  Fenton Robinson,
Boogie Woogie Red, Luther Tucker, Hubert Sumlin and Eddie Burns. As the
reputation of the band grew  Willie Dixon arranged a recording
contract and a concert sharing the bill with Albert Collins, John Lee Hooker, and Howling Wolf.

In 1979 Kent met up with his
beloved  Leadbessie, a beat up 1934 National
Steel guitar,  and in 1989 he met   the legendary Johnny Shines. They traveled
together for three years and performed over 200 shows together, recording“Back To the Country” with harmonica genius Snooky
Pryor. The album  won  the  W.C
. Handy Award for best
country blues album.

Kent and Johnny were  invited
to perform at “Roots Of Rhythm And Blues: A Tribute To Robert Johnson
Era” at The Smithsonian Institute In 1991. The show was recorded and  Grammy
nominated.  However, the following year .Johnny Shines sadly passed away.

During his concerts Kent speaks of the history of the blues music,
the great men who developed it, and his incredible involvement with
some of them.   Songs such as “Shake Your Money
Maker”, Jitterbug Swing” have folk up dancing,  whilst Kent’s’ versions of
songs like “Trouble In Mind” and “St James Infirmary” have been seen to bring tearsto grown men's eyes.

Kent and Leadbessie have
clocked up over two million miles together, and undertaken  over 75 overseas
tours. Kent's  recorded  six albums which include his  own  compositions as well as songs that  keep alive
the those songs those  wonderful old blues legends produced.
