Superb acoustic duo BLACKHEART at The R.M.A. this Thursday, 22nd October

On Thurs
22nd October Blackheart are appearing at The R.M.A Tavern in Eastney. And entry is FREE!

“A great band - Blackheart are taking the acoustic scene by storm” Aled Jones, BBC Radio 2.

Until recently the nucleus of the band - Welsh singer
Chrissy Mostyn and guitarist Rick Pilkington - always appeared as a duo - which is the format that will be at The R.M.A. They're widely regarded as the
fastest rising stars of the new folk generation having become
established for both their live concerts and their outstanding debut
album ‘Indigo’. Their live shows combine the unforgettable lemon and honey voice of
Chrissy Mostyn and jaw-dropping acoustic guitar playing of Rick
Pilkington with highly entertaining audience interaction as they tell
the stories behind their songs.

2008 saw them headlining successful duo tours across the
UK, Scotland and Ireland (three Irish gigs being arranged by your very own Barking Spider - all to packed venues!)

Recently Chrissy & Rick have been fronting their new band at selected concerts, joined by Simon Davies (ex Racing Cars, Van Morrison) on keyboards and Andy
Collins and Brian Thomas of The Storys on bass and drums. Between them
they've played and toured with everyone from Squeeze and
Santana to Katie Melua and Elton John. Next February they'll be embarking on major U.K tour with the band.

“They bring folk music bang up to date” Allgigs

Their songwriting blends folk, country and even rock influences
to create a unique style of beautifully crafted, instantly memorable
songs that has been christened by the media ‘urban folk’. Their highly
personal songs paint pictures of their lives with the sensitive, intellectual lyrical observation
that is becoming the trademark of their work.

“Blackheart do not sound like anyone else, rather they remind us why music lifts us up” Dalton Delan, American Public Television (USA)

Their album track ‘Unlike Water’ was
recently chosen as the soundtrack to one of the biggest TV commercials
of the year and they are regularly featured on national radio with
their song ‘94 Years’ being chosen as Radio 2 Song of the Day for
Fathers Day 2008 and their single 'Bleak Midwinter' reaching No.1 in the
NCM Euro Chart. They've recently released their a new album "Invisible", and a live DVD

“Their forthcoming album looks to be a big hit” Maverick Magazine

If you're a fan of great acoustic music, don't miss this - they're going to be huge...
