BULLFROG BLUES CLUB are happy to announce that we're back on South Parade Pier, Southsea, tonight, and then on the first Thursday of every month. And what a great line up we've got for you -with a very special night to celebrate our return to our spititual home! It's great news that THE PRODUCERS, one of the finest blues band around, have reformed and it's even better news that they're headlining our opening night. THE PRODUCERS performed all over Britain, Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand playing some of the biggest blues festivals around including slots at various festivals such as Burnley Blues Festival, a stunning set at the Templebar Music Centre during the Guiness/Templebar Blues Festival in Dublin and dates on the ex comeback U.K tour. THE PRODUCERS received riotous applause and rave reviews supporting American bluesman Eric Bibb as well as opening for TV's Jools Holland in front of 4000 fans at the Larmer Tree Festival, and headlining the acoustic section of the North Wales Blues Festival. THE PRODUCERS have also played at the Atlanta Blues Festival in the USA and opened concerts for such musical giants as Taj Mahal, Albert Lee, Procol Harum, Jeff Healey, Ray Charles Orchestra, and dates on Fleetwood Mac guitarist Peter Green's comeback tour. A truly great band, not to be missed. There's a few changes to the format of The Bullfrog Blues Club - the main thing is that we now have a house band opening all the gigs with a 45 minute slot.=2 0And what a house band- ladies and gentlemen, your very own...WHITE KNUCKLE BLUES BAND! And that's not all - to keep it fresh, every month they'll be inviting a couple of different guest vocalists to perform a number or two. Now that the Pier is back on line with us (after the previous manager - thankfully now gone - terminated our residency), I'm happy to say that good relations have been re-established, and the Pier is putting on drinks offers every Bullfrog Blues Club night - pints of John Smiths bitter and Fosters lager, and bottles of VK and 1664 - all at just £2. One thing that's not changed is that ticket prices are still low - just £8! So c'mon down South Parade Pier tonight for a great evening of great blues. Doors open at 8.p.m, and the house band will be on at 8.30.p.m, so don't be late! Lined up for future gigs are favourites including Lightnin' Willie & The Poorboys, Kent Duchaine, Gwyn Ashton's Two Man Blues Army, The Guy Tortora Duo, Eddie Martin, Sinnerboy, and Aynsley Lister.
