CLAUDE BOURBON & AN SEISIUN (instrumental) -free gigs in Portsmouth this weekend!

Two great FREE gigs this weekend!!!

CLAUDE BOURBON at the R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Road, Eastney, on
Saturday June 6th - 9 pm

CLAUDE BOURBON is an exceptionally talented French/Swiss musician,
guitarist, singer. Born in the early 60's France, he grew up in
Switzerland.

He was classically trained in Fribourg when he first started to play
the guitar, then played electric guitar in different blues bands.
Claude started to perform under his own name in 1992 when living in the
South of France. He has released five CDs and one DVD - so far!

Claude is now living in Portsmouth, and The R.M.A. gig is a rare
(adopted) hometown gig for Claude, as he spends a lot of his time
touring the U.K., Europe and U.S.A., where his performnces never fail
to make him new fans and bring out his loyal following.

AN SEISIUN( intrumental) at The Eldon Arms, Eldon St., Southsea, on
Sunday June 7th - 5.30.p.m.

AN SEISIUN have been a fixture in celtic music circles around
Portsmouth for some years. They were formed after the celtic rock band
The Motherfolkers broke up, and included Mothers' core members Pete
Clark (genius of the mandolin and musical director), Greg (bass),
Graham Jones (lightnin' fast guitar) and John Roberts (the Barking
Spider) on vocals.

When Pete Clark moved to France, gigs were (by geographical necessity)
few and far between, and now Pete's lving in Southern Ireland, just a
couple of miles away from John, who moved there over three years ago.
John & Pete still play Irish music (and all points north, south east &
west) together in County Galway, where recent sessions include playing
with their original mentor Ron Kavana, as well as Martin Hayes, Vinnie
Kilduff (ex Waterboys, U2 and Clannad), John Faulkner, Jason
Ringenberg, Nashville's Dave Hawkins, and Dolores Keane.

However, AN SEISIUN still get together when they can, and their yearly
St. Pat's gigs at Havant Arts Centre are legendary.

AN SEISIUN now feature an ever changing number of musicians, and can
now field anything up to nine musicians, and you can be sure it's
ALWAYS a hgh energy exhilarating set!

At The Eldon Arms gig AN SEISIUN will be performing an instumental set
- there's no vocalist as John will still be in Ireland, making sure
Pete's cats get fed...
