Also appearing are the Bullfrog Blues Club house band, featuring members of WHITE KNUCKLE BLUES BAND (with special guests including DAVE ALLEN from Reet Petite & Gone) - and tickets for this great evening's entertainment are only £8! GWYN ASHTON has been praised by such luminaries as Robert Plant & Johnny Winter, and over the years has played onstage with Mick Fleetwood, Hubert Sumlin, Canned Heat and members of Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Whitesnake. He has opened for B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Rory Gallagher, Ray Charles, Robin Trower, Vanilla Fudge, Wishbone Ash, Van Morrison, Jeff Healey, Tony Joe White, Johnny Winter, Mick Taylor, Peter Green, John Hammond and Pat Travers. In 2001 'Guitar Parts' Magazine's voted JEFF BECK 'Guitarist Of The Year" whilst GARY MOORE was voted number two. And number three? Yep, none other than GWYN ASHTON!!!! GWYN has two of his songs in movie soundtracks in France and Asia, conducts masterclasses in Australia and Europe (inc GIT and Guitar X, London . He also appears and gives tutorials for numerous guitar magazines, and performs live on radio and television worldwide. On GWYN 's last release, 'Prohibition', guests included Chris Glen, Ted McKenna (Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Michael Schenker Group, Ian Gill an rhythm section) and Don Airey, Deep Purple's keyboards player. In the '90s GWYN recorded his first 2 albums and opened for Junior Wells, Rory Gallagher, Steve Morse and Albert Lee. In 1999 GWYN ASHTON ’s band opened for Status Quo on their 15-date British arena tour, including dates at Birmingham NEC and Wembley Arena. In 2000 GWYN recorded 'Fang It!'with Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O’Neil, former Rory Gallagher rhythm section (now with Nine Below Zero). Replacing ex Motörhead guitarist Brian Robertson, Gwyn then fronted Band of Friends,as a tribute to Rory Gallagher, together with Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O’Neil, Lou Martin, Mark Feltham and Ted McKenna who all played with Rory over the years. GWYN ’s latest project, GWYN ASHTON'S TWO MAN BLUES ARMY, is an alternative guitar and drums blues and roots/rock power duo with drummer KEV HICKMAN. Creative use of fuzzed-out bottleneck slide, octave dividers, delays, loops and drums, the duo kick the blues into the 21st century. Like a band possessed, this fiery 2-man combo pulls no punches and delivers the goods every time. These guys are Lo-Fi, analogue, wild and dangerous, as witnessed in Berlin at Popkomm ‘08, broadcast across Europe by ZDF television. This promises to be a truly GREAT night! Don't miss it!!!!!
