BULLFROG BLUES CLUB - Back at South Parade Pier from 16th October!!

On 16th October The Bullfrog Blues Club's monthly gigs start  back on South Parade Pier after a short break with a superb triple bill at a bargain price! .

After the success of the Mike Sanchez and The Portions gig on the blues day of this year's Southsea Folk & Roots Festival, we're delighted the area manager of South Parade Pier  has asked The Bullfrog Blues Club back to  present monthly gigs. We are delighted to be working with him with Jim Young, of Youngjim Music, an respected promoter who has worked with many major artistes in the blues genre.

As Bullfrog Blues Club regulars know, high energy bands  such as The Cadillac Kings and Memo Gonzales & The Bluescasters   defy anyone to stay in their seats, and South Parade Pier is the ideal venue for dancing!  With this in mind, some of our  events will lean towards the "dancier" end of the blues spectrum, and  Jim Young  has a great deal of experience with  these kind of gigs.

The first gig at South Parade Pier  will be a triple bill headlined by Matthew Lee, a fantastic young piano player from Italy, whose supercharged  stage show  is highly reminiscent of his namesake, Jerry Lee Lewis.
Matthew Lee was the hit of  'Blues At The Farm' this year, and we're delighted that he's jetting in to do this show. Check out Mathew Lee's website on  http://www.matthewlee.it/, and his Myspace, http://www.myspace.com/matthewl
eeitaly - just watch the videos to see what all the fuss is about!!

The same night we've  also got Jesse Rae, a fabulous singer/guitarist  with the presence of the 'Sun Records' period Elvis, and  the excellent harmonica led blues band The JT30's, already known to Bullfrog Blues Club regulars.

Tickets are just £8 and available (via Paypal) on www.barkingspider.abelgratis.com

Other up and coming Bullfrog Blues Club highlights at The Pier:

Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes (Thursday 27th November),
The Swing Commanders (15th December)
 Bobby Cochrane  (29th January). .

The Bullfrog Blues Club will continue to promote blues at The Cellars in Cromwell Rd.,  Eastney:
The Deborah Bonham Band (Wednesday 22nd October)
Kent Duchaine (Wednesday 12th November )
The Aynsley Lister Band (Wednesday 3rd December)
Barry Barnes of Sinnerboy -a solo Rory Gallagher gig.  (Weds 17th December).

On all other Thursdays and Saturdays The Bullfrog Blues Club presents  free entry blues and roots music at The R.M.A. Tavern, (also in Cromwell Road, Eastney).
