Tickets are going fast for the legendary ALBERT LEE at South Parade  Pier on Thursday 27th November - get 'em now!

Albert Lee first picked up a guitar at the age of 15,  and by 1961, he was playing clubs in Hamburg, side by side with The Beatles.

Back in England,  Albert replaced Jimmy Page (later of Led Zeppelin) in The Mike Hurst Band when they  joined a package tour with Gene Pitney and Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas. Albert again replaced Jimmy Page in Neil Christian's Crusaders and joined Chris Farlowe And The Thunderbirds for four years.

From 1968 to 1970 Albert played throughout England with Country Fever, often supporting American country artists such as George Hamilton IV, Bobby Bare and Skeeter Davis. In America, country rock, a mixture of rock 'n' roll and country & western was beginning, and Albert was keen to embrace this genre, but U.K. audiences were slow to change, preferring Johnny Cash and Jim Reeves covers.

In 1971, moving more towards a rock audience, together with Chas Hodges (later of Chas & Dave) Albert formed Heads Hands & Feet. They gigged until 1973 and released three now much sought after albums.

Albert then played sessions for Jerry Lee Lewis, before moving to  Los Angeles,  touring and recording  with The Crickets. After two U.K. tours, Albert met and played with his musical idols, The Everley Brothers. He then toured America and=2
0Australia in the seventies with Joe Cocker  before leaving to work on a solo album.

Albert then joined Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band when guitarist James Burton left to play with Elvis Presley’s band. Albert left The Hot Band in 1978 to concentrate on his solo career. Although Albert's solo career led to his departure from The Hot Band his guitar work has graced many of Emmylou Harris's albums.

In late 1978, he joined Eric Clapton's band  and continued to work with Clapton for five years, until  1983 when Albert became guitarist and musical director  for The Everley Brothers first concert in 10 years at The Royal Albert Hall. He continues to tour with The Everley Brothers, spending up to four or five months on the road with them each year.
In 1987 Albert was approached by Gerry Hogan to headline at a steel guitar festival.. The gig was a success and Albert now tours Europe with Hogan's Heroes. More recently Albert has been touring with ex- Rolling Stone Bill Wyman in  his band The Rhythm Kings, and also  plays with the celebrity supergroup The Biff Baby All Stars, together with Eddie Van Halen, Steve Morse and Steve Luth
akar.
