AYNSLEY LISTER AT THE CELLARS NEXT WEEK!

Top blues man Aynsley Lister  to play  solo gig at The Cellars next Weds (23rd July)

On Wednesday July 23rd at The Cellars at Eastney The Bullfrog Blues Club present a very special night, when top blues singer/guitarist Aynsley Lister - no stranger to Bullfrog Blues Club gigs  - will  play one of his ever popular solo gigs.

Aynsley Lister  was the only  British artist to be featured in Classic Rock's Top 10 Contemporary  Blues Artistes, alongside artistes including The White Stripes, The Black Keys, John Mayer, Jon Spencer, Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

Influenced from an early age by the 60’s blues era, Aynsley takes the  key elements and mixes them with a more current and melodic lyrical approach. He is one of very few artists playing rocking blues with a modern edge -tangible, heartfelt, soul searching and full of fine songwriting; played with passion and vitality.

Since signing to Ruf Records, Aynsley has recorded four studio albums, and two live albums – one of which recorded at our very own Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier!) and one along with a live DVD for Germany's legendary  "Rockpalast" TV show.

Aynsley  has sold over 75,000 records and now headlines many of major festivals throughout Europe, where he has played alongside blues legends such as Buddy Guy, John Mayall, and Robert Cray as well as big name pop artists such as Bryan Adams and Fun Lovin’ Criminals.

2006 saw Lister recording in Cla
rksdale, Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee where he worked  with Stevie Ray Vaughan's producer Jim Gaines on the Ruf Records collaboration ‘Pilgrimage’. With Gaines producing Lister debut for the label in 1999, it was almost 7 years to the month that they had previously worked together. In September of that year his album ‘Everything I Need’ was released stateside in preparation for his debut U.S. tour.

'Upside Down'  is Aynsley’s fourth studio album and his first to contain all originals, resulting  in his strongest, boldest and most compelling album to date. Songs from the album are sure to be showcased at The Cellars gig, which is not to be missed!
