Tonight - Friday 1st August - sees the return of the mighty MIKE D'ABO to The Cellars At Eastney. . In 1966 there was only one man who could fill Paul Jones' shoes as front man for Manfred Mann, and that was very definitely Mike D'Abo. It was Mike who was the lead vocalists on "Just Like A Woman", "Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James" and "Mighty Quinn", to name but just three hits. But not only that, Mike composed ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ for The Foundations and ‘Handbags & Gladrags", a massive hit for Chris Farlowe, later covered by Rod Stewart and The Sterophonics. In February 2007, Mike D’Abo played his first ever ‘solo’ gig - at The Cellars! To say that it was a special evening would be to massively understate how enjoyable it was for both Mike and the audience, as he lead them through his earliest influences to his time with Manfred Mann and beyond. Tickets are just £10 from The Cellars At Eastney, Cromwell Rd., Eastney, Portsmouth. This is a night not to be missed! More info on www.mikedabo.com
