After their sell-out show at The Cellars At Eastney in February 2007, Chris Farlowe and The Norman Beaker Band are back on Saturday 12 April! Chris Farlowe needs no introduction, his classic number one ‘OUT OF TIME' was written for him by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and is still high on radio playlists. His first band, The Thunderbirds featured such luminaries as Dave Greenslade, Carl Palmer and Albert Lee. In the 1970's Chris recorded 2 albums with Colosseum, before joining Atomic Rooster for 2 further albums. In the mid-70s, a new Thunderbirds line-up was formed, once again featuring Albert Lee. In 1986 Chris sung on three songs on Jimmy Page’s solo album 'Outrider' and since then, Chris has worked on a number of projects, including the critically acclaimed album 'Waiting in the Wings' in 1993, which also featured Micky Moody, Leo Lyons, Alvin Lee, the late Boz Burrell and Albert Lee. A tour followed on which Chris was joined by Maggie Bell, playing to sell out crowds. In 1995, he recorded a jazz album – 'As Time Goes By' – and toured Europe with the re-formed Colosseum. Since the late 1990's, Chris has toured regularly with The Norman Beaker Band, which includes Norman, John Price, Dave Baldwin and Paul Burgess. He has also worked and recorded with Van Morrison and toured with Maggie Bell and The Manfreds. Chris gives no indication of stopping; 'The Voice' is as strong as ever. His recent 46 track anthology 'Rock n' Roll Soldier' contains a connoisseurs selection of his work from 1970 to the present, and includes nine previously unreleased tracks. In May 2006 Chris celebrated 50 years in the business, and on October the same year received a coveted Gold Badge Award from THE BRITISH ACADEMY OF COMPOSERS & SONGWRITERS. Just twelve Gold Badges of Merit are awarded each year!
