What a coup! His album “Big Mama’s Door” is one of my all time favourite solo blues albums, an amazing album from "The Cosmic American Love Child Of Howlin Wolf and Link Wray". - Ben Harper, Eric Clapton and Mick Taylor are big fans. After receiving the 1997 W.C Handy Award for "Best New Artist", as well as two "Living Blues" Awards, 2003 saw a GRAMMY nomination, he was voted best guitarist and the most outstanding blues singer "Living Blues" reader’s poll in 2004, and in 2005 best guitarist in the same readers poll. He was nominated for the 2006 W.C.Handy Award in the category of “Contemporary Blues Male Artist Of The Year”. This brilliant blues singer, songwriter and bottleneck slide guitarist has established himself as one of the most exciting country blues performers of our time. His foot stomping deep delta blues and American roots music has rendered audiences spellbound the world over. He did a great gig at The Bullfrog on the Pier a couple of years back. However, we've never managed to find a suitable day for Catfish to return to The Pier, so it's great that Steve's been able to find him a date at The Cellars. So, as we know you're discerning blues fans, Steve and I have put our heads together, and offering a special discount for these gigs to those of you on The Barking Spider/Bullfrog Blues Club mailing lists - or your friends!
