If you've seen KEITH JAMES and RICK FOOT's great "Tribute To Nick Drake" shows at Barking Spider gigs at the Pier and elsewhere, you'll know how much they puts into these shows... On Wednesday 21st November Keith & Rick will be bringing their new show, ‘Lorca’, to The Cellars At Eastney. These two superb musicians have combined to set the poems of the influential early 20th Century Andalusian writer to music. Both sharing a love of the text, Keith and Rick spent two years on the project, much of it in Spain, engaging a team of literary enthusiasts to ensure faithful translations of the text. The poems of Federico Garcia Lorca have influenced some of the most respected song-writers of our age, not least among them Leonard Cohen. This show will include a screening of a film about the poet. Alongside the Lorca material, Keith and Rick will also perform some of the songs from their Nick Drake show and classics by Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Tim Buckley. This promises to be a very special evening, with two gifted musicians, whose total commitment to their craft has become widely respected among both their peers and their audience.
