I am Julie Felix’s agent - please read on:

Help us lucky members of the music industry help one of our own.

I am trying to help Peter Noone on a small but important charity venture on behalf of original Dave Clark 5 lead singer Mike Smith whom you may be aware has been paralysed from the neck down since falling off his garden wall in 2004. Such a simple twist of fate as Bob would say.

He couldn’t get the gate to open so decided to hop over the 7 ft wall. He is over 6 ft tall himself so it didn’t seem much of a challenge. Sadly, he landed on his neck and has lived in hospital ever since.

It looks now as if Mike will be released from hospital within a few months and he desperately needs a highly specialised van in order to be transported and to get around.

His lovely wife Charlie is from my American home state of Indiana, and we have come to know each other over the past couple of years so I am so keen to help in this urgent situation. I am contacting you to ask if you might donate some personal (and possibly signed) item for an eBay auction with all funds going toward the $100,000 cost of such a specialised van...if so, I would be so grateful.

NOTE FOR THOSE WHO WOULD PREFER TO MAKE A CASH DONATION:
Donations made by check or money order in USA dollars are made payable directly to Mike Smith, PO box 4584, Wilmington, DE 19807 USA. They are deposited into a money market account set up at Wilmington Trust Bank.

There's also a PayPal account that can be accessed using the email address..... MikeSmithDC5Drive@msn.com. Donations can be posted to that account and, if someone is donating is using currency other than USA dollars, the paypal account is the best option.

Cheers
Jane Quinn and the friends of Mike Smith
