-----Original Message----- From: spiderpromos@aol.com To: spider@barkingspider.abelgratis.com Sent: Sat, 10 Feb 2007 3.05PM Subject: JULIE FELIX at The Railway Folk Club, The Alma Arms, Eastney - THIS MONDAY (12th Feb ! Don't miss the legendary Julie Felix THE FOREVER YOUNG TOUR 2007 The Railway Folk Club The Alma Arms, Highland Rd, Eastney, Portsmouth on Monday 12th February (8.p.m.) Take this opportunity to meet (or meet again) an icon of the 60s and one of our greatest legends of folk/rock music. Singer/songwriter Julie Felix continues into the fourth decade of her remarkable musical career with a new album plus the Forever Young Tour. Julie’s music has always resisted all labels and boundaries and her concerts are a joyous combination of her own original material, classic favourites by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and others, traditional Mexican folk songs and native American Indian chants. Her performances are always full of inspiration and enthusiasm, passion and humour, wrapped with messages of hope and the belief that the power of music can have a positive effect on our often harsh world. Recently, she has performed with people as varied as Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Kiki Dee, Martin Carthy, Donovan, Bill Wyman, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, and Roy Harper. She performed on stage at the 2005 Respect Festival and is working alongside charities Christian Aid and Oxfam as well as MAG (The Mines Advisory Group) and Adopt-A-Minefield. ‘More than 30 years on, Julie Felix continues to speak and sing out against inequality, injustice and war. Perhaps her voice needs to be heard now more than ever.’ The Irish Examiner ‘When a musician such as Julie bares her heart and soul and gives this way, it is a great gift.’ Dalton Delan, Public Broadcast Television, USA Please visit http://wwwjuliefelix.com for more details, concert reviews, background, etc. JULIE FELIX is at The Railway Folk Club at The Alma Arms, Highland Rd, Eastney, Portsmouth, Monday 12th February - doors open 8.p.m. - tickets £9)
