BARKING SPIDER PROMOTIONS are proud to present a co-promotion with The Cellars at Eastney, Cromwell Rd., Eastney, Portsmouth on Sunday 22nd April 8.00pm The return to Portsmouth of the original cowpunk - JASON RINGENBURG Enthralled by the English punk movement, American country rocker Jason Ringenberg formed Jason & The Scorchers back in the mid seventies, and the band sent serious shock waves through Nashville with their full powered blend of country music and punk. Jason & The Scorchers attempts to rip up the country rule book were initially met with horror in traditional circles, but their drive to disrupt the mainstream ultimately paid off, earning them record deals, support slots for rock giants R.E.M. and the nickname ‘TNT from Tennessee’. The Scorchers split in the late 1980s, but Jason still rips the joint apart with his superb solo performances! Jason's stage outfits hang in the Country Music Hall of Fame and he’s routinely described as “Nashville’s most electrifying performer”. DON'T miss this guy, he really is something else!!!!!!!
