On Sunday 25th September, AN SEISIUN are performing at The R.M.A. Tavern in Cromwell Road, Southsea - and entry is free.... The band only play sporadically now, since their spiritual leader, mandolinist Pete Clark, went to live in France, but due to an enexpected visit from Pete , they're back for a special one off gig, and don't expect to gig again in Portsmouth before Christmas. Apart from Pete's "90 miles an hour" mandolin, An Seisiun are best described as a moveable feast, as although they always features core musicians, they have been known to field twelve! On Sunday you'l have another chance to experience their particular brand of high energy celtic music, with a touch of Appalachian fiddle music, Irish reggae, .(and whatever else fits...) Last December's gig at The R.M.A. saw a full house, with people being turned away at the door. Apart from Pete, the line up on Sunday will definitely include Graham Jones on guitar and Greg on bass (they're now also with Skynny Lennard), J.R on vocals and spoons (now also with Father Jack), Chris Smith on washboard, bodhrans, spoons and assorted percussion, Carl Jacobs on congas and Andy James (also with Hard Times String Band) on fiddle. The gig starts at around 8.30, but get there early - it's going to be a busy night.....
