AN SEISIUN - for one night only - this Sunday!!!!!!!

News Awards folk roots nominees An Seisiun to play free Southsea gig this
Sunday!

On Sunday 25th September, An Seisiun, nominees in the best folk roots act
category of The News Awards, are performing at The R.M.A. Tavern in Cromwell
Road, Southsea - and it's absolutely free!

The band will be getting together again after a gap of around six months,
to play their particular brand of high energy Irish music, with a touch of
Appalachian fiddle music,Irish reggae, and whatever else fits!

This popular festival band only play sporadically now, since their spiritual
leader, mandolinist Pete Clark, went to live in France, but due to an
enexpected visit from Pete , they're back for a special "one-off" gig, and don't
expect to gig again in Portsmouth before Christmas.

Last December's gig at The R.M.A. saw a full house, with people being
turned away at
the door.

Apart from Pete's 90 miles an hour mandolin, An Seisiun are best described
as a moveable feast, as although they always features core musicians, they
have been known to field twelve!

Apart from Pete on mandolin the line up on Sunday will also include Graham
Jones (guitar) and Greg (bass) who are now also with Skynny Lennard, J.R (da
barkin' spidah) on vocals and spoons) and Paffs (bodhran) both also now with
Father Jack, Chris Smith on washboard, bodhrans, spoons and assorted
percussion, Carl Jacobs on congas and Andy James (also with Hard Times String Band)
on fiddle.

The fun starts at aruund 8.30., but get there early -it's going to be a busy
night.....
