BUDGIE and JUICY LUCYat The Pier on Weds 19th October- great double header!

BUDGIE - AND JUICY LUCY together at The Pier!!!!!!!!

Last year when we brought Budgie to the Pier, we were treated an
absolutely superb evening of all-out hard rockin' heaven. This time they're back with
another classic rock band, Juicy Lucy, and tickets are on sale now.

Burke Shelley still has the classic rock voice - it's a wonder his vocals
chords aren't ripped to shreds after each performance. "New boy" (in Budgie
terms!) Andy Hart on lead guitar peeled off the solos with aplomb and added
his own flurries tastefully without detracting from the originals, and drummer
Steve Williams is still as rock solid as ever.

The band have a massive back catalogue to dip into, with some of the
greatest titles ever - for instance "Panzer Division Destroyed", "Nude
Disintegrating Parachutist Woman" and od course their siganture tune, "Breadfan". They
just don't write 'em like that anymore!

Budgie will be joined by another legendary band , Juicy Lucy, who were
formed from the ashes of The Misunderstood, late sixties pioneers of psychedelic
music - John Peel was so impressed he produced their first recordings in
1966.

Later, when Ray Owen was drafted in on vocals and The Misunderstood became
Juicy Lucy, and moved away from the psychedelic sound to a more contemporary
sound, evident on Juicy Lucy's first singlein 1969, a cover of Bo
Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" from their self titled debut album.

The single charting charts at number 14 in the UK and staying on the chart
for three months. The album cover itself also charted, and caused quite a stir,
due to the cover shot- a gatefold of a woman lying naked, surrounded by
fruit....

Past members of Juicy Lucy have included Paul Williams, also known for his
work with Alan Price and Zoot Money, and Micky Moody, later with Whitesnake,
before the band broke up.

In 2004 Sanctuary Records released the long awaited Juicy Lucy compilation
"Who Do You Love - The Anthology".

Budgie and Juicy Lucy will be at South Parade Pier on Wednesday 19th
October - tickets now on sale at our usual outlets.
