Did you attend The Tubes concert on South Parade Pier, Southsea on Monday night? If so, I feel it necessary to let you know what the problem was with the late start........ The band were comimg to the U.K from the mainland Europe part of their tour, but were detained by French customs over a misunderstanding over work permits . Consequently they weren't allowed to board the ferry at Calais until this matter had been resolved - I was told at lunchtime they were on board the ferry - they were due at the Pier at about 4 p.m to set up. A breakneck dash to Portsmouth followed, and the band arrived around the same time as the doors were opened. The crew then had to unload all the band's equipment and set up, hence after soundchecking that's why The Tubes didn't start the show until around 10.15 p.m. Thanks for all your patience in waiting in the other bar prior to the gig. The Tubes really did pull out all the stops, and produced an awesome show. I know that a few of you had travelled to attend the show, but had to leave before the start. after being refunded in full by the Barking Spider staff. I'm sincerely sorry that you had to miss the show due to transport problems, and I'd be grateful if you'd contact me on _spiderpromos@aol.com_ (mailto:spiderpromos@aol.com) if you were put in this position. I hope you will accept that the problem was completely beyond the control of Barking Spider Promotions. However, you can still see The Tubes at The Brook, 466 Portswood Road, Portswood, Southampton SO17 3AN, this Friday, 2nd December.
