TONIGHT- Thurs 5.5.05: GUY TORTORA BAND, Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier Guy Tortora appeared for the first time at South Parade Pier in January 2003, as a solo act, but tonight - Thursday - Guy Tortora will be returning to the Bullfrog Blues Club with his band. Guy Tortora was born in Pasadena, California, but these days lives in London. He plays both acoustic and electric guitars, with a fine line in bottleneck playing. His technique has been compared to players like Albert Collins and Ry Cooder. Guy is also a fine harmonica player. Guy Tortora's CD "Footnote To The Blues" is a mixture of impressive original tunes and some standards, all given Guy Tortora's personal touch. and Guy's new CD., "Jefferson Drive" has had a lot of play on the Paul Jones blues show on Radio 2. THE GUY TORTORA BAND appear at The Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, Southsea, on Thursday 5th May. Doors open at 8 p.m.
