JASON RINGENBERG at THE R.M.A. TONIGHT! (Tuesday)

JASON RINGENBURG at the RMA, Tuesday    3rd May

Jason Ringenberg  the original roots-punk barnstormer from Nashville, is at
The R.M.A. Tavern in Eastney tonight! He performed a storming set at South
Parade Pier last night, so if you were there come and see him again - this time
it's FREE ENTRY!

Born in 1959 and raised on a pig farm in southern Illinois, Jason Ringenberg
has been hailed as an alt-country luminary, creator and aggressive cow-punk
perfector, and now a tireless, barnstorming roots punk solo performer

Jason attended Southern Illinois University in 1977, where he was  exposed to

the explosive might of the first punk rock movement; The Sex Pistols, The
Clash and The Ramones. In a deliberate gesture, he set off for Nashville,
Tennessee in search of soulmates, to play music  that was loud, fast,
heartstrung and
poisonous if swallowed -  Jason and the Scorchers were born. In Nashville
this  unholy union of country and punk rock was met in some circles with
suspicion but were  ultimately upheld and critically acclaimed by anyone with
a soul
as “TNT from Tennessee.” Their live show, with its embodiment of old-time
rock
& roll energy, punk swagger and grit, and country music's elegant excesses,
that won them fans worldwide.

Jason & The Scorchers first release  was "Restless Country Soul",  followed
by the album, "Fervor", which caused a stir among American critics. After
"Lost
& Found" was issued in 1985 Jason & The Scorchers become a major concert
attraction all over the globe.  The band disbanded in 1990, when Ringenberg
became
a solo performer, but reunited in the mid-'90s, issuing five studio albums
and a live recording.

Ringenberg's solo  debut, "One Foot in the Honky Tonk", was met with critical

praise.  and  the simple, haunting acoustic masterpiece "A Pocketful of Soul"

soon followed. Hot on it's heels came the  rollicking 2002 album, "All Over
Creation" , where an amazing array of guests - including Steve Earle, Hamell
on
Trial, BR5-49 and  Lambchop  - accompany him on each track.

Jason Ringenberg continues to be a very successful solo act when not playing
with The Scorchers; he's toured the world three times in the 21st century
alone, and 2004 saw the release of his current  solo album, the politically
themed
"Empire Builders".

Jason Ringenberg's  concert is free entry - DON'T MISS IT!!!!!.
