THE COUNTRY JOE BAND appeared at South Parade Pier, Southsea, last June, and Secret Films were there to record this great concert. The Southsea gig was the last date of a highly succesful tour which brought four fifths of the 1967 Monterey Festival line up of COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH together again - the guys responsible for unquestionably the best psychedelic albums of the '60s, including "Electric Music For the Mind & Body" and "Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die". Yep, we're talking about COUNTRY JOE McDONALD, CHICKEN HIRSH, BRUCE BARTHOL & DAVID BENNETT COHEN! Secret Films have teamed up with MVD (Music Video Distributors) to release the concert. Originally intended for release in October, the release date has been brought forward to July 11th, to coincide with the 2005 COUNTRY JOE BAND U.K TOUR, once again organised by Barking Spider Promotions. The DVD has an RRP of £14.99. If you live in the Portsmouth and Southsea area, Dave Robertson of REFLEX RECORDS in Albert Rd., Southsea - (023) 9229 3571 - assures me he will be selling the DVD at a highly competetive price, and he'll also be stocking it in his High St, Gosport branch. You can book a copy now by ringing Dave or Alex on (023) 9229 3571 Alteratively, if you live outside the Southsea area, TESCO's are stocking the album "on line" for £13.24. You can access their order page on _http://www.tesco.com/entertainment/Product.aspx?R=631063_ (http://www.tesco.com/entertainment/Product.aspx?R=631063) This is a great opportunity to buy the DVD in time to get it signed by the band at the following venues on the tour.......
