Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, Southsea, Thurs 8th December - LES WILSON'S MIGHTY HOUSEROCKERS Les Wilson, one Europe's most respected slide guitar players, is at the Bulfrog Blues Club tonight! Les has been playing professionally began since 1974 (aged 19), and his early Influences were George Thorogood, Hound Dog Taylor, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Son Seals, Elmore James, BB King, Albert King , Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Rory Gallagher, and Ry Cooder. Les formed The Mighty Houserockers in 1981, In 1987 he was a live session guest on "The Paul Jones Blues Show ' on BBC Radio 2 and in 1989 The Mighty Houserockers first album "Fine Looking Woman ' was released. Three more studio albums and a live album have followed, and also a compilation album entitled "A Ton Of Red Lightnin'" Les Wilson. who lives in Cork, Southern Ireland, and his band The Mighty Houserockers perform at the top UK blues venues and have played at the Great British Blues Festival at Colne,Lancashire many times - twice on the International stage, and have headlined the British stage three times. Also a fine acoustic player, at the recent Kendal International Guitar Festival Les Wilson appeared on equal billing with Kent Duchaine Gordon Giltrap, Jerry Donahue and John Renbourn. Les and the band have toured Europe since the early 90's, with many festival appearances including Luxembourg Jazz & Blues Festival 2004, numerous appearances at Cork Jazz & Blues Festival in Ireland, and festivals and tours in Holland and Belgium. LES WILSON'S MIGHTY HOUSEROCKERS appear at The Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, Southsea, on Thursday 8th December - doors open 8 p.m. Tickets available on the door.
