In 1964, carrying nothing but a duffle bag and a guitar, Julie Felix arrived in England after leaving California and hitching through Europe. By the end of 1965, she’d become the first solo folk artist to be signed to a major British record company release a single, 'Someday Soon' and the album 'Julie Felix' - and become first British-based folk singer to fill the Royal Albert Hall! T.V. appearances on “The Eammon Andrews Show” and “The Frost Report” led to Julie’s own T.V series by 1968, and the following year she appeared at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival, when Bob Dylan made his comeback appearance. Her 1972 album, “Clotho's Web” featured such heavyweights as Led Zeppelin’ s John Paul Jones, Danny Thompson and the late Cozy Powell. A series of acclaimed albums and singles have continued to delight her many fans, and her concerts are always spellbinding. This is a welcome return to Julie to the Southsea Folk & Roots Festival, where she appeared in 2003, celebrating 40 years as a professional singer and 65 years of life; a life blessed with music, magic and adventure.
