COUNTRY JOE BAND - this Saturday in Southsea

THE COUNTRY JOE BAND feature Woodstock legend Country Joe McDonald and
Bruce
Barthol, David Bennet Cohen & Chicken Hirsh, from the best line -up ever of
Country Joe & The Fish - the band that recorded "Electric Music For The
Mind
& Body" and "Feel Like I'm To Die" and appeared at the historic Monterey
Pop
Festival in 1967.

Don't forget that unbeleivably they're playing "The Frog On The Front" at
The Pyramids Centre in Southsea on Saturday 6th August! This is a great
opportunity to see this
legendary band in an intimate venue. The gig is being promoted by The
Country
Joe Band's U.K. agent, Barking Spider Promotions, in conjunction with
Southsea
Rocks.

On their U.K tour this year they're playing the Eastleigh Summer Festival
with The Sawdoctors, headlining the opening night at Cropredy Festival,
headlining a triple header with The Muffin Men (with Jimmy Carl Black) and
The
Crazy World of Arthur Brown in Falmouth, and playing the Tartan Heart
Festival
in Inverness-shire, where they'll be sharing the stage with Scotland's most
famous export The Proclaimers.

Even more unbeleivable is the fact that British Home Stores are actually
selling Country Joe and The Fish T shirts at present, whilst the Country Joe
Band's new DVD "Turned On & Turned Up" is on sale at Tesco's (what happened to
the revolution, maaaan?).... How legendary can you get?!?

Doors open 8 p.m. and support is by ex Reet Petite and Gone member Nick
Evans, who accompanied Country Joe on his U.K tour 2001, and Greg Buchanan.
Both Nick and Greg are currently in the Dylan tribute band Obviuosly Five
Beleivers.

Tickets for the Southsea show go on sale on Friday, (price £10) from The
Wedgewood Rooms Box Office (023) 9286 3911 and Reflex Records in Albert
Road,
Southsea - but hurry, they're very limited, and you can also chance your
luck on the door or ring J.R on 07970 959793.
