PJ Wright & Pete Scrowther at The R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Rd., Eastney, Portsmouth THIS SATURDAY 4th September! P.J. Wright is one of the most respected electric slide guitarists around. Currently, P.J. is guitarist and lead vocalist for folk-rockers Little Johnny England, headliners at Southsea Folk & Roots Festival 2003 and Titchfield's Folk At The Abbey 2004. P. J. also plays slide guitar and pedal steel with The Dylan Project - the rest of the band are Fairport Convention members Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg and Gerry Conway and they're fronted by Steve Gibbons, legendary singer and guitarist from The Steve Gibbons Band. The Dylan Project are appearing at South Parade Pier on 7th December. As well as acoustic, electric, and pedal steel guitars, P.J. also plays harmonica, dobro, mandolin, saxophone, and organ. He arranges much of the band's material, and has contributed several fine songs to their repertoire, including 'Johnny England', 'Forty Years On' and 'My Heart's Where My Home Used To Be'. Spread over three albums, Little Johnny England have recorded half a dozen songs by Pete Scrowther. Fairport Convention recorded 'The Heart Of The Song' on the album 'The Wood And The Wire'. He's also a fine performer in his own right and has released two albums, 'No Promises' and 'Scrowther' featuring his compositions. Pete Scrowther has lived in Switzerland since the 1970s, so it's not often that P.J. & Pete get together. This will be a very special concert. PJ Wright & Pete Scrowther appear at The R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Rd., Eastney, Portsmouth THIS SATURDAY - 4th September. Admission is free.
