It's dreadful weather, & you're going to be stuck indoors miserable as sin unless you let CATFISH KEITH let a little sunshine into your life at The Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier tonight, Thurs. 21.10.04! Catfish Keith is one of the finest acoustic bluesmen in America, and one of the most exciting guitarists of any genre. Pulling blues out of the sky, Catfish Keith lays down a foot-stomping groove, and his great love and delight in his music make completely irresistible. Known to work his audiences to the bone, it seems Catfish Keith can't miss. He's ranged far and wide to gather great country blues curiosities and obscurities, and then put together clean, lively performances of them. Keith hasn't lost sight of the fact that this stuff was dance and party music, and unlike too many other performers, he seems to be motivated by nothing but his love for the music. Keith's acoustic picking and slide (on a properly rusted National) is excellent and he sings honestly and with real warmth. Always entertaining and fresh, Catfish has got the goods.
