DEB SANDLAND: The R.M.A. Tavern, Eastney, Mon 29.11.04 On Monday Deb Sandland appears at The R.M.A. Tavern. She has just finished a duo tour with Phil Beer of Show Of Hands, consolidating her position as one of the leading voices on the current roots scene. Deb is also a full time member of the Phil Beer Band, and her superb voice is showcased on their albums. Her first solo album "My Prayer" was released in September 2003 to much critical acclaim, and her latest album "Semer Water", featuring songs with a supernatural theme, was released in September this year. The album shows her affection for the work of Nick Cave, and in places comes across as a version of Cave's "Murder Ballads" from a female perspective. The album features many fine guest musicians including Phil Beer, Gareth Turner, Miranda Sykes, Martin Green and Simon Thomas and Ralph Sandland. At the R.M.A. gig, Jezz Hall will be accompanying Deb on guitar and backing vocals. As with all R.M.A. gigs, it's FREE entry, too!
