AMOR's very last gig will be at The Bullfrog Blues Club's Xmas party, on Thursday 23rd December... Matt Beable, bass player for AMOR, rang me today with the sad news that one of The Bullfrog Blues Club's best loved bands are breaking up. AMOR are a very special band, and after some years of an uphill struggle battling against complacency and "formula" blues bands they're packing it in. They wanted their last gig together to be something special, so they decided that The Bullfrog's Christmas party would be the place to do it, as they've so many fans in the Portsmouth area. Jon Amor is going to be concentrating on solo work for a while, and will probably put another band together at some point. Fear not, we'll get him back at The Bullfrog. Matt Beable is going to be playing bass for the wonderful Amy Wadge, but I'n ot sure what the other members of the band will be doing. With this in mind, tickets for The Bullfrog's Xmas Party are sure to be even more in demand, than usual, as it's also AMOR's very last gig. Tickets are just £8, and will be on sale at The Bullfrog Blues Club every Thursday from tomorrow (The Harry Skinner Band gig), and at usual outlets like the Wedgewood Rooms Box Office, Albert Rd., Southsea, Reflex Records, Albert Rd., Southsea, South Parade Pier General Office , or by post from John Roberts, 105, Landguard Rd., Southsea, PO4 9DR - cheques payable to Barking Spider Music (and please enclose a stamped addressed envelope).
