FRANCES BLACK BAND- TONIGHT!!!!

THE FRANCES BLACK BAND: TONIGHT! (Sunday 7th November), South Parade Pier,
Southsea

Don't forget - there's a rare opportunity to see Irish superstar Frances
Black, appearing with her band tonight at South Parade Pier, Southsea!

The  excellence of her live shows coupled with the popularity of Frances'
albums have made her one of the leading artists in Ireland

Frances  began performing professionally with  her marginally more famous
sister Mary Black  and their three brothers in 1986, as The Black Family, and in
1988 joined Arcady,   whose debut album "After The Ball" reached number 6 on
the Irish charts, whilst  the  title track (with Frances'  vocals) reached
number 7 on the singles charts.

In 1992  two of Frances'  songs were included on the  biggest selling Irish
album ever, the compilation of Irish women singers, "A Woman's Heart". The
album  sold over 350,000 copies, and  continued to hold a place on the Irish
charts two years after its original release.

Frances' solo album "Talk To Me" went to no. 1 on the Irish charts in 1994 ,
and
remained in the top 15 albums throughout the Autumn.  A single from the
album, "All
The Lies That You Told Me" reached no.3 in the lrish singles chart.

Frances has won an Irish National Entertainments award in the Popular Music
category, and in April of 1995 won an I.R.M.A. award for the best album by an
Irish Female Artiste.

Support to The Frances Black Band is  Amalthea, featuring Debs Peake, (ex
Blue Horses fiddle player) and Helen Andrews.

Doors open 7.30.pm. Tickets (£10) will be on sale on the door tonight.
