This Thurs - 4th Nov. at The Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier: THE MICK PINI BAND Something VERY special at The Bullfrog this Thursday - THE MICK PINI BAND! Acknowledged as one of the great interpreters of the blues, the guitar sound that Mick Pini achieves could be described as somewhere between early Peter Green and a bluesy Santana. Mick Pini is the genuine article - a living, breathing British blues guitar hero. As an added bonus, The Mick Pini Band also features the great Sam Kelly on drums. After Mick Pini had supported B.B. King in 1996 Eric Clapton describes him as "the legitimate successor to Peter Green." (and, no, that doesn't mean he's the next guitarist to give up performing for years and sleep on a park bench....) As well as touring Europe with B.B. King, he's toured with Buddy Guy and Freddie King, and earned himself a strong following, particularly in Europe. He's toured the world for 30 years and has never had a day job. Mick's albums feature many great heroes of the blues, including Paul Jones and Bullfrog Blues Club favourite Adrian Byron Burns. Mick has also recently recorded an album with Roy Estrada (ex Little Feat & Mothers of Invention) and also Jimmy Carl Black, another ex "Mother" - well known to Barking Spider audiences as the front man from The Muffin Men. As well as Sam Kelly on drums, The Mick Pini Band also features Jools Grudgings on keyboards, and Roger Inniss on bass. So.... see you at The Bullfrog Blues Club on November 4th, when it looks like there will be fireworks a day early! THE MICK PINI BAND appear at Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier on Thurs 4th Nov. Doors open at 8.p.m. Tickets available from The Wedgewood Rooms Box Office, Albert Rd. Southsea, Reflex Records, Albert Rd., or on the door.
