As The Barking Spider is away for a couple of weeks with The Country Joe Band Tour, here's details of what's on at The R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Road, Southsea, over the next couple of weeks. And don't forget, they're all FREE entry gigs !!!!!!! Tuesday 1st June FERIS WHEEL include amongst their members Den Reeve-Baker and Dave Allen, ex members of Reet Petite and Gone, who backed Country Joe on his last U.K. tour in 2001. As Country Joe arrives in the U.K the same day, who knows, he might just turn up... Ferris Wheel are also supporting The Country Joe Band at Ryde and South Parade Pier on the Country Joe Band Tour. Saturday 5th June Tony Farinha, better known as the man from The Werewolves Of London, will be showcasing his new band, EL MONDO COMBO . Expect a night of blues combined with world music, and intriguing mix! Tuesday 8th June Singer/guitarist MATT HARPER will be on hand to play a selection of songs from the pens of such luminaries as Townes Van Zandt, Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. A great performer, this is his first time at The R.M.A. Saturday 12th June SKUNK FUNK appear at the R.M.A. Tavern, Cromwell Road, Southsea, ) playing their heady brand of funk soaked brass fuelled r & b. A big favourite with the R.M.A. regulars, always great fun. Tuesday 15th June Mike Bishop, from the American psychedelic band The One Eyed Bishops pays a rare visit to these shores, stopping off at The R.M.A. to play a gig accompanied by some special guests, including Kev Ellis from Magick Khat and also bass player for Top Topham's present band. (ex- Yardbirds). Expect an eclectic and strangely euphoric evening. A great selection of free gigs - don't miss 'em!
