Kent Duchaine - Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, TONIGHT!!!!! (Thurs. 15th January) Tonight The Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier welcome back one of the club's great favourites, and one of the all time greats of acoustic Delta blues - the man from Minnesota, U.S.A - the one and only KENT DUCHAINE!!!!!!! KENT DUCHAINE is the perfect example of the wandering troubadour bluesman, always on the road, with his best girl, Ledbessie - a beat up 1934 National steel guitar that's been the love of his life since they first met in 1967. Kent is one of the few Delta players whose slide is actually made from the neck of a bottle! Kent links the songs with stories of his life on the road, and the bluesmen he's met, such as Johnny Shines, Robert Johnson's half brother, who he rescued from premature retirement and travelled the road with him until his death. Apart from his superb interpretations of Delta blues classics, Kent is an inspired songwriter too - his song "Lot of Love" was written on a full moon lunar eclipse on the anniversary of the death of Robert Johnson. Spooky.... This is, like all Kent's gigs, going to be a very special night - DON'T MISS IT!!!!!! Kent Duchaine appears tonight (Thursday 15th January) at The Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier, Southsea - doors open 8 pm.
