CLAUDE BORBON - free gig at The R.M.A. tonight!

CLAUDE BOURBON - the frog with the blues - is playing The R.M.A. Tavern in
Cromwell Rd., Eastney, Portsmouth tonight (Tuesday). He replaces Jon Brindley
who is unfortunately hospitalised.

Claude Bourbon is a man who, when it comes to playing great blues music,
really takes the biscuit.Claude was born in France in the early 1960s, but grew up
in Switzerland. He started to play the guitar at the age of 15 after hearing
an instrumental version of The "House Of the Rising Sun" coming from a
neighbour's garage.Ever eager to learn, Claude then studied classical guitar for a
while. But he soon realised that his feeling was more for improvisation. He
loved and lived for the spur-of-the-moment inspiration, stressing that music is a
tool for self-expression.In the 1980s Claude took the opportunity of joining a
touring band playing songs from the likes of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix the
Kinks and Muddy Waters all over Europe. At the start of the 1990s he moved to live
in the South of France, beginning to play solo. It was during this period that
he released his first CD "Des Jours Gris" - (Grey Days).Over the next five
years he played in countless venues with top musicians including sax man Steve
Grossman from the Miles Davies Band and drummer Charly Morgan - who has kept
the beats for stars such as Elton John and Gary Moore.

Admission at The R.M.A. is free, and the music starts roun 9 p.m.
