BAP KENNEDY! Tonight! Free! R.M.A.!

Bap Kennedy - The R.M.A. Tavern in Cromwell Road Eastney, Monday 13th
December.

The legendary BAP KENNEDY, formerly lead singer with Energy Orchard is at
The R.M.A. Tavern in Cromwell Road Eastney, tonight, Monday 13th December!

Popular in the United Kingdom as well as in the U.S. and Canada, Energy
Orchard  recorded five albums, "Energy Orchard", "Stop the Machine", "Shinola",
"Pain Killer" and the superb live album, "Orchardville".

Bap  was making a name for himself beyond the pale of the band. He opened
shows for  Van Morrison, and sometimes shared the stage with Van, who co-wrote a
song with Bap which will appear on Bap's next album.

Steve Earle  attended  an Energy Orchard show, and  a friendship between Bap
and the country maverick was soon forged.  After Energy Orchard folded, Steve
Earle signed   Bap to his own label, and  co-produced his debut solo album
Domestic Blues, which was recorded in Nashville with a dream band, many of whom
accompanied Earle on his classic  Train a Comin'  album.

The band on Domestic Blues included  Steve Earle on guitar,  Peter Rowan on
mandolin, Jerry Douglas on dobro, and the late Roy Huskey, Jr. on upright bass.
Other contributors include Nanci Griffith, whose  voice graces both "The
Ghosts of Belfast" and "The Shankill and The Falls;" and Nancy Blake, who weaves
cello through the latter as well as the dreamy "I've Fallen In Love."

The album  is a spellbinding masterpiece consisting mainly of Bap Kennedy
originals -  "barroom philosophy with dobros." There are also two covers: Earle's
"Angel Is The Devil" and Ewan MacColl's "Dirty Old Town," a raucous duet with
Earle himself.

There's a new album "in the can" due out early next year, which  takes
bar-room philosophy  to another level, when Shane Macgowan  takes the vocals on a
song co-written with Bap entitled "On the Mighty Ocean Alcohol".

The album also features another co-written song, "Milky Way" which Bap
co-wrote  with Van Morrison.

Last word goes to Steve Earle: “Bap Kennedy’s songs would be great no matter
where he grew up -  as it is, growing up in Belfast with things blowing up
around him made his songs vital.”

This promises to be a storming gig, and to make it all the more perfect,
entry is free!

Bap Kennedy apears at  The R.M.A. Tavern in Cromwell Road Eastney on Monday,
13th December. Entry is FREE!!  (Joe D'Urso, who was scheduled to appear at
The R.M.A. on Monday is unavoidably unavailable due to a family illness)
